Subject: Question about AMD64 processor speedup

Can anyone tell me what NPS speedup to expect on an AMD64 versus
an Athlon assuming that the speed grade is the same?

  To get my engine to run on the AMD64 does it need to be
recompiled.  If yes, what compilers are there available to
do the job?
