This is like asking a formula 1 driver whether he's incapable of judging what
happens at other teams.

The knowledge the programmers have about the other chessprograms is far bigger
than you can imagine. Not only because of the many chats and email traffic
between the programmers.

The additional advantage i have is that i'm FM. Just from a single output in a
single position from amateur programs i can already usually see whether they
have a bug somewhere. Either in hashtable, in a certain pattern, or whatever.

Many amateur programmers can testify to this.

Now instead of a single output there is quite some more data, to say it polite.

You must not underestimate this.

If Uri Blass can already draw a lot of conclusions from 6 game outputs from Deep
Blue, what can others do with all the data that is there about hydra?

Additional, and you have to praise him for that, Chrilly is not working in
secrecy. He is even regurarly posting at CSS. Usually postings about what he
knows from Shredder.
