Well, if I force 1...Kxf4 2.Rc2 Rd2+ 3.Rxd2 Bxd2, CM9_R1 on an AMD 2500 needs
1:34 to announce a Mate in 17 (or less) for Black.

But the main question is whether 2.Rc2 is better than 2.Re1, and it is this
question that probably will prevent engines from finding a forced mate in the
initial position. Because after 2.Re1 Rd2+ 3.Kf1, Black has three reasonable
responses -- 3...Rh2, 3...Rf2+ and 3...Kf3.

But 3...Kf3 appears to be best, because it forces 4.Re2 Rd1+ 5.Re1 Rxe1+ 6.Kxe1,
which The King says is a Mate in 14 (or less).

So, I have shown that it is a mate in no more than 20 moves, but it took a fair
amount of forcing moves to show this. From the initial position, it would take
The King a very long time.
