In another thread I'd half-jokingly remarked that the only people who thought
Adams would win even a single game were from the UK, and this before these
responses to this poll from the UK based members. I took the extreme view that
he would not be able to win a single game as a way of getting a rise. It
worked; but it to my surprise it was an Israeli (Uri) who responded saying he
thought Adams had chances. Uri is always so serious :o)

In a way it's quite understandable that UK members would hope for an Adams win,
most people root for the "home team", but having chatted with guys from the UK
on ICC I know that when it comes to Mickey Adams they seem to lack objectivity.

I suppose it wasn't clear that my response was very much tounge in cheek (a
joke). But still, I think he has no realistic chances. Of course events may
prove me wrong, and that would not bother me in the least.
