If you lack time, please see my question near the end. This might be the end of my computer chase! I won 2 auctions, but cancelled them both, and now I found a dealer who got me closer to what I wanted, at no unbelievable price. He said that an Intel machine (laptop) it's possible to play around with easier, so I asked for a few things, and got some of them. One is 7,200 RPM on a 60 GB HD, and a (propper) 915 GM chipset at 1.86Ghz (i.e. 750) [more speed than that would cost improportionately more money], and 1024 mb RAM, which I was told is useful, but that more than that is unnecesary (IS it? Even if I like to put on alot of start-up pop-up programmes?). This was about the best I could probably have ended up with under the circumstances. It comes close to $2,000, but a much better package (I think) than I was origionally going to get. Yes, I thank Amir Ban who helped me open my eyes as to what is available in Israel. In fact most things are, but not all suppliers know of everything. But prices are still seemingly unnecesarily high, BUT I HAVE checked out around the web and I HAVE seen thart some things ARE highly priced elsewhere too. When people told me "don't you pay much morethan $1000 for anything laptop, however good" that, I think, is partially correct. But not tottally. Well, If I found a similar dealer, but in the UK or US, I can well imagine it would all fit in within $1,500. But I'm not so sure about $1000 or even $1,200. Yes, auction sales MIGHT yield a very good price, even less than outside Israel, occasionally, if there are not too many high bidders that day. But I cannot wait 21 working days any more, and there might be other hassle involved too. And, you can't easily specify much of what you want, with a friendly dealer giving you much time. Now, I have further questions. What now do I need to get in order to set everything up, for computer and communication maximization? I ought to have known better, but I'm only really a beginner, from tommorrow! What do I and what do I need to get? Winboard? what? Thanks for any guidance. S.Taylor
