(Sorry if already posted) Chrilly has posted a number of messages at chessgames.com about the upcoming Hydra-Adams match. His first message (I think) is dated May 29 and he says: "I am the programmer of Hydra. We play against Adams, because the match is in London and we wanted a "local hero" as our opponent. Besides this I think M.Adams is one of the best - maybe even the best - player against a computer. Adams can play like Adams. Kasparov can e.g. not play like Kasparov. When it comes to tactics, computers are better. One can only beat them "quietly". Besides this is GM Adam a real gentleman. I think the match will also be a lot of fun for all involved." He also discusses the reason for Hydra's short opening book, the eval function, and other issues. The discussion can be found at chessgames.com: search there for the games of Hydra, then scroll to the "kibitzing" section; click on "earlier kibitzing" to get back to May 29 or earlier. Mark
