Ah!! There are a few factors to consider; (1) who is willing to play such a
match; (2) who is willing to pay for such a match; and (3) and for what
reason(s) will the match be played.

(1) I've broached this possibility with a number of GMs (US Grand Masters with
FIDE ratings over 2500 and with their FIDE GM norm complete) but had no takers
until recently; (2) I am willing to guarantee the prize money to the GM (the
higher rated the more costly the match is likely to be to me); and (3) I am
trying to demonstrate that for under $2,000 hardware (specifically a g3 233 MHZ
Power PC) and for under $100 software (Hiarcs 7, $98) consumers can buy GM level
strength to play against, and learn from.

I suspect that the GM that will play the match is likely to lose, which should
be a very strong indicator that my contention is correct. If the machine is
totally dominating (4.5-1.5 or better; which I think unlikely), then it is very
possible that I will have underestimated the true strength of the machine and
would imply that I should have sought out a world top 20 player. My best,
present, guess is that the machine will hold the match or win slightly. I am
allowing for the possibility that the machine will be appreciably stronger than
I am suggesting right now (certain features of Hiarcs 7 indicate this may be
so). Only time will tell.
