Hi Dom, I noticed in Hydra's previous match with Shredder that its opening book was indeed quite shallow. Worse yet, some lines that Hydra played into were lines that it had previously played. Therefore, I would think that if Hydra had experience in certian lines that its team would do some post-game analysis of the opening. If the line played was acceptable, then I'd expect the team to extend that specific line at least a few ply further, with a net potential time gain for future games, not to mention less calculating time for the opponent, who now can't calculate on Hydra's time.
