I was in for a shock, when I couldn't find the word Intel written on my new notebook computer, and not only that, but I didn't even see it written on, or in the first page of the instruction manual. I didn't see ANY name (until I found Macrovision written somewhere), and what I DID see was "made in China"! Sounds encouraging! (lol) But I'm a bit upset with my dealer, shouldn't I be? I'm sure he didn't mean it, but he wasn't being very careful and exacting. When I was asking him about IBM and HP notebook computers, and that I wanted a few things inside, such 915gm chipset etc etc., he said there's another company which hs a more flexible computer, called "Intel". [and because of that, I was able to specify 7200 RPM, 1.86 Ghz, and one or two other little details]. I also asked at one point if this is the same intel as the major computer company, and he said YES! of COURSE! But now when I asked him where is Intel mentioned, are they so ashamed of this notebook that they don't openly say their name? he said, "it's an Intel motherboard and chipset". I said, but that can ANYWAY only be Intel or AMD (besides other completely different things, like Makintosh), and he said, all the companies make their own motherboards, and this is, as he said, Intel. Is this OK? I think the HP I was looking at previously, and had asked him about ALSO has an Intel motherboard. So shouldn't I be upset with him? S.Taylor
