This is the response from Shredder 9.02UCI with tablebase (all 5 pieces and some
6 pieces) access. P4 3.4GHz, 256Mb RAM

18/18 0:01 -1.19 1...g4 2.a7 (479.866) 432 TB:3.718
 19/19 0:02 -1.19 1...g4 2.a7 (724.301) 351 TB:6.027
 20/20 0:03 -1.19 1...g4 2.a7 (1.112.205) 319 TB:9.065
 21/21 0:05 -1.19 1...g4 2.a7 (1.598.233) 273 TB:12.705
 22/22 0:08 -1.19 1...g4 2.a7 (2.260.348) 262 TB:17.969
 23/23 0:11 -1.19 1...g4 2.a7 (3.438.206) 296 TB:23.555

While this looks promising, the situation is quite different when I study
mastergames with rook endings. When the pieces are more than six, the hard disc
cries its heart out. There is learning feature which helps the engine to
understand the position by walking through the game.

Anyway, has anyone tried http://www.shredderchess.com/freezer/index.php
