If Apple does begin building x86 based systems I don't believe they'll be JUST
another clone. Apple will bring the same innovative system design to the PC
world. This should be a good thing. The Apple system prices will come down,
but will it be enough to be competitive?
PC makers may be forced to rethink some their own design principles. This has
got to be a good thing.
For many years now Linux has needed a user friendly GUI to make it appealing to
the the average "non-geek" PC user...and to make it competitive with MS Windows.
Microsoft may at long last have a real competitor. This has got to be a good
thing.
