I'm just a weak player in comparision to the GM's targeted here. Fidemaster is what i am. FM after that comes IM after that comes GM I didn't make it further so far than FM. However queen versus rook i win blindfolded, also against the EGTBs. The matter is not whether i use a perfect number of moves. Just win it within 50 moves. Reality shows that you usually are 20% off the perfect path and the last 10 moves only 1 or 2 moves extra are needed. So in reality you always put it mate. In highschool i used to play such endgames for money. Me 1 minute on the clock. They 5. The fear for EGTBs is just not true. The only type of fear there is, is that within a year or 30 the GM's lose their income because chessprograms will be a lot better by then than they are now. So far that has not been the case. In fact Hydra single handed delivers lots of money to GM's directly. Vincent
