This position from one of my games is winning for white. It is not a usual test position, because there are many moves (probably most of the moves) that lead to a win. [D] 8/6p1/4p2p/5p2/2k5/P4P2/1K4PP/8 w - - 0 43 All human club players should know that the outside passed a-pawn is very strong. It forces the black King to stay on the Queenside, allowing the white King to reach the Kingside first. Yet some strong engines don't evaluate the position correctly. Some give a very small advantage to white and others even give a score favouring Black. The most optimistic engines that I tried are Crafty and Zappa with a score of only +1.0 to +1.2. Isn't it relatively easy to add knowledge about outside passed pawns, so that the engines would evaluate this position correctly?
