No collection can be considered World Class without the Famous Prestige Chess
Challenger

most of the worlds top collectors either have one.. or want one
some collectors even have more then one

only about 1000 were made in total but an exact number is hard to come by
released in 1982 by Fidelity it was programmed by the now divorced Spracklen
husband and wife team

it went through several program upgrades the two principal ones being the
Glasgow and Budapest World Champion programs

rated at about 1700 Elo it was a full tournament sized auto sensory wooden board
it was similar in apperance to the ARB board but unlike the ARB it had had one
display window

perhaps the most desired aspect of the Prestige was its piece set
an original set of Prestige pieces is a collectors item in its own right and
many will pay a very high price just for the original pieces and use them with
other chess computers

indeed i know of one former collector who sold all of his chess computers but
kept the Prestige pieces and uses them to this very day a as normal chess set

personally i consider the Prestige pieces the most beautiful chess pieces ever
released for a chess computer

very few chess computers were made with this high level of quality and
craftsmanship
