No it shouldn't happen It could be so many things - when you say "crash", can you clarify ? Does the computer go completely dead, or does the chess program itself just crash and the computer still running OK ? With a total of 256MB of system RAM, a 128MB hash is quite agresssive, although Windows 2000 requires far less RAM than XP
