Hi Claude, you should be able to use somewhat more than 256 MB hash. Yace does
not need power of 2 numbers. On my 512 MB RAM computer, I often use 400 MB hash
and can even use 450 MB without slowdown, when I do nothing else on the
computer.

But it might not help for this position. On my computer Yace needed one depth
more than on your computer (such things can be observed now and then - I believe
it is because of some "hash luck factor" that cannot be avoided).
