Hi Gerold Well I can recommend the Palm Zire 21. Although this unit is only black and white, this of course doesn’t really matter for chess. Being only black and white means that there is less drain on the batteries. This unit will last about 5 or 6 hours without having to recharge. And this is with the “permanent brain on” so the unit is thinking all the time! Another advantage is that it also comes with it own power supply which means you don’t have to plug it into your PC to charge. The unit can also be used while being charged. The Palm Zire 21 is also very cheap. The only drawback to the unit is its small screen size, which isn’t as large as some of its bigger brothers. This of course also contributes to its good battery life.
