Some hints to the Smirf program:

The package contains an own GUI, Smirf engine and some Borland run-time DLLs.

Because Smirf is supporting 8x8 and 10x8 chess variants, it is (still) not
possible to play the Smirf engine under Arena. May be this year there would
be an UCI engine, too , if SMK would extend the UCI protocol to also support FRC
/ Chess960.

Chess also ist supporting import and export of PGN (still no variants yet), and
also drag and drop of such game notations and FEN positions.

If you would keep the hints option selected in the help menu, the GUI would
nearly comment itself.

The board could be turned always (also through running) by clicking on any
corner of the board. Castling rights could be switched during editing of a
position by simply clicking at the letter near the affected rook.

Reinhard.
