My solution is easy (almost):
1. Switch to brave old Winboard with the -debug switch
2. winboard.debug includes all engines output
3. Then do process it with George Lyapko's LGDEPGN.EXE
  (http://www.geocities.com/lyapko/winboard.htm) and then with
  Thomas McBurney 's GameAnalyser
  (http://home.pacific.net.au/~tommyinoz/gameanalyser.html)
and you get an unequalled analysis tool !

For UCI engines, the new Polyglot 1.3 utility by F Letouzey offers new
possibilities under winboard (e.a book creation and use) and I am sure it will
be soon improved !

... OK I am a bit of a dinosaur ...

... but Winboard rules!
