Hi,

this is really not easy to explain. When looking at the code of fruit you´ll see
a straight foreward engine that is neither well tuned nor has special new or
unknown tricks.

It seems that among a huge amount of possible "features" in search and eval
Fruit has not many of them, but the right ones.

The miracle is how Fabien managed to find out what the right ones are and how he
was able to find the right parameters to make them fit together that well.

One thing every chess prorammer can learn from Fruit is to keep the chess engine
simple and to step by step identify the most important improvement to implement
and take the time for a bug free and well balanced integration of this
improvement before going to the next one.

Gruß Volker
