Does junior also play "Nf6" meaning Nf3 as white?does it go on the other side?
maybe the engine assumes the board is reversed or it doesnt take rules of
position arrangement.

I dont  know what you are doing with the test suites,since most of your post
shows illegal position,anyway continue with pieces keeping OUTSIDE the board
and I'd be delighted if you reporrt to us about some engine actually evaluates
taking a pawn when it pushes the pawn to the last rank.

and some report of you showing one engine wants to move its knight from Nh3 to
outside the board which it itself calls it NJ2 : ) :) :)
