I think that every winboard engine or UCI engine is allowed to use the chessbase interface in WCCC. I remember that amateurs like Jonny and Falcon used the chessbase interface in the world championship in Israel. I did not do it because I did not like the interface to claim a draw for me. I thought that arena is better in this respect but I also did not use Arena except the draw against woodpusher because arena claim a draw in words that Movei does not use and I found the draw claim of movei only in the logfile. > >I can make you a Levyish bet on this as well..... > >I bet 1p (it is all I have) that Deep Fritz 8 plays worse knowing all the rules >than Deep Fritz 8 that does not and is helped. Even if Fritz can be 10% slower if you add the code(I doubt it) then it is translated to less than 10 elo at long time control. > >These is just plain logic. > >I hope you are not a "rep" for Chessbase. I do not support chessbase and I dislike things that they do like not allowing games of more than 300 moves. In case that Movei becomes commercial I will probably not sell my engine to chessbase because I think that they have too many bugs in their interface. Uri
