I have not had any trouble with any compiler. I just compile:
   BOARD.C
   DATA.C
   EVAL.C
   MAIN.C
   SEARCH.C
and then link them with the linker.
What exactly is the problem you are having?  When you say "It did not work" do
you mean the compile step, the link step or the run step?
