About Shredder I agree, most helpful to have a comparison between a Chessbase
engine and a UCI engine by the same author. Thank you Stefan.

Let's get this straight. It is OK for an "engine" to compete in WCCC 2005
getting help from a GUI....yes? So it is a GUI with a little thing tacked
on....yes? Good, thank goodness that's settled then.

Maybe you think it is a bug, I think feature.

Making an engine that plays as an exe in console mode would be the best time
spent by the programmers of the Chessbase engines.

They did after all put a sort of UCI in the Fritz GUI. Why not go the full
distance then and make a console mode for the WCCC 2005.

Let's see how good they really are. What are they afraid of?

Why have a proprietory format?
