Dann, You had a valid statement in your message when saying that it is "unscientific to try to prove a hypothesis by doing an experiment." The "unproved or unverified assumption that can be used or accepted as probable in the light of established facts" is that CM6 plays a remarkably strong middle game on longer time controls. To watch CM6, which is generally not considered to be one of the "professional" chess programs (ie. Rebel, Fritz, Hiarcs, Genius), hold its own is quite exciting. Rich
