Hello, yes it was a bug-report, go and look at how Dr. Hyatt has answered. I quote: "I will fix it" I know another peron who backed an other programmer even his engine is proved o be a clne now. The positons were just the first step in determining that. I expect that after Crafty is fixed many other engines will be fixed as well... but remember one still can't hide anything. The previous versions of an engine still tell the whole story. Yes I agree with Chris in this issue, an engine shouldn't except an illegal position with pawns on first/eights rank, 2 or more kings per side, and so on because it is against the FIDE laws of chess. What I can see is you jumping on people who provide you with usefull bug-reports. Fix them if you want or let it be. We will always provide test positions as well as engine behaviour anomalities and "coincidences" if we know something is screwy out there. You might not like it that it is possible to determine who is cheating in computer-chess programming using as a first step chess positions but we have enough of those clones and engines beeing called chess engines even they do not understand or do not care about the rules of chess(as I told you before those positons are just the top of the iceberg). Best, Michael
