This topic has been aired about ICGA WCCC events before.
It is a competition between chess-playing systems, whose components include:
- the core 'chess engine' application
- the o/s below it, and the {EGTs} on disc alongside it
- the opening book, and
- the operator (especially under Blitz conditions)
It is not a competition between the core 'chess engines'.
'Equal hardware' events are no longer wanted by the competitors on the whole,
and even they would favour some competitors rather than others.
