Hi Gerold, some years ago Shredder was known as best engine for endgames. From all anylyses I performed I would say that Junior and Fritz are close now in this respect, maybe not much more than 50 ELO behind what is also the overall difference we have. To compare strength and weaknesses for Fritz and Junior is hard. There are still certain kind of endgames all engines have problems with. When it comes to passed free pawns by the way Chess Tiger has best estimation in my point of view. best regards, Christian
