Last week, I tried to install and run HIARCS7 on a 400 MHz Micron PII. When trying to run it in the extended memory mode with the -x option, it would come up on the screen but then the computer would be completely locked up. Even Ctrl-Alt-Del would not work. It took a reset button push to bring the computer back to life. I noticed that the words "LOST" were printed under both Player 1 and Player 2. I talked to Tim at ICD and he said I was the first person with a Micron computer who had problems with HIARCS7. He recommended that I try the Dell patch which is available from the HIARCS web site. It worked!! Apparently, Dell computers are not the only ones that do strange things with upper memory when it boots. If you have problems with HIARCS7 locking up, try the Dell patch first before you go ballistic! It worked for me!
