I am in contact with the seller and she is giving me some time to decide what I
want to do.  She, also, has offered me a complete refund or a partial refund, if
I want to keep the machine.  I don't know yet what amount of partial refund
would be appropriate.

I was able to put the Conchess in the problem mode and not use the B1 square.
By doing this I was able to discover that there are two other squares that don't
work - C3 and H6.
