I believe that what is going on is that some computer manufacturers are using the memory just above 1 meg to keep a snapshot of your harddrive as it was when it left the factory. It does not surprise me that using the RAM above 2 meg is the solution which is probably what the Hiarcs-Dell patch does. Interesting that only Hiarcs appears to have the problem though.
