Probably, some of the commercial engines may get worried.

But a commercial chess system is much more than an engine.

On the other hand, if they cannot raise the bar as high as the free one, they
might get some trouble.

Since fruit is open source, they will probably take a look and understand the
things that fruit does which are superior.

Eventually, the same ideas will work their way into the commercial engines.

Note that the code cannot be used, but the concepts certainly can.

On the other hand, if Fabien wants to devote full energies to his program, I
expect all chess program vendors might get a very big scare.

I expect also he will be approached by Chessbase, ChessAssistant, and perhaps
ChessMaster as well.

Maybe SMK will also be interested in working with him.

To me, the current strength of Fruit is a very wonderful thing.

I like everything about it, especially Fabian himself.

Is it a coincidence that Fabien rhymes with très bien?
