I think the best example of why to not release the source is the parallel search
stuff "borrowed" by bionic; Crafty will undoubtedly utilize more and more huge
pieces of very sophisticated code that can be stolen verbatim and used against
amateurs. And to say that parallel search code is needed by beginning chess
programmers is simply not true.
