Hi all ,

as interest in Fruit 2.1 is very high (no surpirse as it is gorgeously strong)
CEGT testers are updating the rating list more often than usually.

You can“t find it on our websites, but here when scolling to the bottom:

http://wbforum.volker-pittlik.name/viewtopic.php?t=2906

This one is a provisional as a lot more games will come tomorrow for example
from Michael und Uschi and we will give a new one on our websites tomorrow
evening. Compared to the last rating list given by Christian Fruit lost two
points while Fritz won two, due to a very good performance in CEGT WCC and due
to the individual results against Fruit. According to the error bars we have now
with 960 games for Fruit it can still go to rank 2 with some hundred games more.
In case of very bad performance it could also drop to rank 4 or 5.

By giving more matches against the very top we raised the average opposition ELO
for Fruit now to the opponent level Junior has. The assumption that this would
increase ELO so far did not prove to be true, what Michael and I anyway already
doubted from all the tournaments we ran in the past years. It can happen for
some engines that they perform better against the top, it can as well be that
rating increases when playing against the lower end of the list. We had all this
cases. For Fruit 2.0 Michael in his Active Chess ratinglist had an improvement
as soon as the former version played against weaker opposition.
