I've released Neurosis 1.9. It has a Winboard-compatible engine, and a 3D (&2D) stand-alone version. What's new. : Calculate underpromotions. Something I wanted for a long time, but wasn't able because of Neurosis's datastructure (A from-square, and to-square, each a byte) and I had even decided to start writing an entirely new program because of that, until some weeks ago I had an idea to make it work in the old one anyway. (Pffew.) Now it can finally solve any position correctly. (given enough time..) That gave me motivation again. Searches a little faster and deeper. ~ a ply or more on average. And also some positional and other improvements, so I'm hoping for a reasonable increase in strength. Something worth noticing.: Configurationfile is now called NConfig.txt instead of neurosis.txt , and Neurosis3D now reads from it too. (Hashtable setting and videomode.) Neurosis-3D can now also run in a 1024x768 resolution, and some other changes. I'm writing a PGN-reader and replay option, but that's not finished yet, (along with a lot of other plans..) so that's something for next version. On my webpage.: http://www.geocities.com/tasteofinsanity81/stanspage And I think Leo Dijksman will also make it available from his WBEC website. (Thanks Leo!) Enjoy. Stan
