Chessmaster 5500 or 6000 is a very capable mate solving program but it's normal chess playing engine only goes out 38 plys which makes the maximum mate it could find a mate in 19. I have found that its mate finder mode finds mates slower than its normal game playing engine. I hope the next version of Chessmaster will allow the engine to search greater than 38 plys. Hardware is getting faster.
