There's no reason to keep Hydra in the closet, just bringing it out to stomp a human champion every six months or so. Make it available for study and analysis. The GMs will get stronger, maybe learn how to win some games. And Hydra will get stronger, too. Maybe even feed it every IM and GM game played as human tournaments occur.
