I just noticed there's almost no difference between 1 MB and 32 MB. So I suppose the 64 MB I used for CM were not so bad at all either. For one thing, CM is quite slow (under 40 Knps on the 233 machines), so I guess it's not much hash-table dependant. On the other hand, I don't think it will slow CM down very much even if it cleared the HT on every move. I didn't notice any slowdown in Hiarcs with 64 MB vs. 16 MB for example. But it's possible you have a point here, I will check this for my current tournament (where HT's bigger than 32 MB will not be necessary anyway except for fast searchers like Fritz). --- Shep
