I think that he has no right to call himself the world champion. In the last years he only won a single match against Kasparov and he did not deserve to play the match in the first place. Alexei Shirov is only 15 in the list but I think that it is even better to consider him as the world champion and not to consider kramnik as the world champion. Shirov beated kramnik in a match before kramnik played against kasparov and everybody who care about justice should be against the fact that shirov got nothing for it. Uri
