 After 36.cxb4 Black is able to double rooks along the "c" file. White would
have no counterplay. Then Black's king slowly would travel to b5 and, after a
swap of one rook, to c4 and b3. White pawns at b2 and a3 seem doomed.

 For a GM like Seirawan, 35...b4 may be a risk-free move. A veteran patzer like
myself would prefer to make two or three moves with the king before sacrificing
the "b" pawn.
