I have a set of these including a wooden box. I purchased them back sometime
around 1980 from the USCF, although I don't recall the price. They are indeed
the originals and were advertised as being used in the Nice Olympiad (1974, I
think). The knights do not have porcelain eyes. I added felt to the interior
of the could-be-larger box to help prevent damage to the pieces.

I've used the set in a number of events including ACM 1994 if I recall
correctly. It's my favorite set and, alas, not for sale.
