The only conclusion we can draw from the above results is that all three engines are roughly in the same ballpark when playing FRC. We can't claim that Gothmog is stronger than Glaurung, nor that either engine is better than Pharaon. Because of the big difference in strength at normal chess, I think it is very unlikely that Gothmog is really stronger than Glaurung at FRC. I am playing a 100 game Noomen match between my two engines right now, and after 52 games Glaurung is leading by a convincing 34.5-17.5 (+26, -9, =17). It is very possible that my experimental and completely untested evaluation changes in the FRC version of Glaurung hurt the playing strength, but I doubt that this is enough to make it weaker than Gothmog. Again, thanks for testing my engines! It doesn't happen often that I receive FRC games or results. :-) Tord
