Are you using the same book for both programs? If so, that could be causing your troubles. Always use separate books. Are you sure you are using the correct parameters for Shredder? Is it using the correct amount of hash? The latest version of Arena is actually quite stable. I haven't had to many problems with it at all. If you want to use a UCI engine with Winboard, set it up with Polygot and you will have little problems.. unless you use the same book for both programs. Peter P.S - I also just noted that Chris posted to your problem. Typical response from him when you have anything negative to say about Arena. Gotta love the support staff there eh?
