It is possible that the majority of computers sold will soon be dual core, but I think it will take several years before the majority of computers in use are dual core. Personally I buy a new computer about once every three years, which I guess is a slightly higher frequency than the average (perhaps it is lower than the average for the CCC readers, though). I bought my current computer in the autumn of 2004. It is therefore not likely that I will own a dual core computer until at least two years from now. Before then, there will of course not be an SMP version of my program. Tord
