Fernando,
I love Macintosh, as you may know, but cannot recommend you to switch right now,
unless of course money is of no concern.

The reason is that Apple will be using Intel CPUs starting next year and this
will help with running your already large collection of Wintel applications.
Given your predicament, if you buy a Mac next year it is going to probably cost
you less and it will run your software much better, than a Mac would do today.

If you, however, are totally fed-up then don't buy anything less than a 2 GHz G5
(iMac) for home computing or anything less than 1.5 GHz for a laptop
(Powerbook).

Regards,
Hristo
