The playing strenght alone doesn't make a good program. However, I will go more into details after I finish my list (the point differences are not big anyway). It is, of course, understandable, that some features are not interesting for serious players, whereas amateurs may need other features. The points do not take that into account. So, yes I would recommend Hiarcs for a professional player and Chessmaster for the Fun-Player.
