8.d5 doesn´t bust black at all. Of course he could have also played 7...a6 or
7...Bg7 as computers don´t understand anything and think white is much better
after e5 followed by Sxd5 and exd6 but this is simply wrong.
The double pawns in the center are useful and cover many important squares.
But also 7...Nb6 is possible. Black has a playable position after 10...Na4!? and
probably also after 11...Rb8 12.e5.
a6 _and_ Na4 is not playable because of the refutation 13.Ng5!. A move he had
probably missed or at least underestimated.
Zappa played strong but not perfect. Black got the chance to get back in to the
game with 17...Rc8 after which 18.d6 is not quite as strong as it looks.
