Subject: Tablebase questions

1. Some programs (mostly Chessbase, but also CP) crash on initializing certain
6-man tablebases while working fine with others. Is there a known reason for
this selective acceptance? Example: BPP vs. N is OK, while NPP vs. B crashes
Hiarcs 9 (updated to the latest GUI). Removing these files from the directory
heals Hiarcs 9.

BTW, Shredder 9 has no problems and works with all of the ones I tried (over
600).

2. I noticed that .tbs files are present in Bob's directories. Seems they only
contain statistics for a given TBS - I presume they are not needed?

Thank you,
PK
