This sounds very good for a start.  I can only caution you that tuning an engine
against a single opponent may make it much weaker vs other opponents.  So the
real test comes when it's tested "all around" vs many programs.  I have seen
many versions of CM9K that beat the default but lost badly vs other programs.
Just food for thought.
