In fact, I am quite surprised with Adams vs. Hydra and his courage to >take such positions vs. a computer. It is a valid point, but I feel there are serveral problems with the whole anti-computer style. First, it can only really be played with White. And as Ehlvest demonstrated, GMs have no problem handling White anyway. They can get a good position out of the opening without tricks. Secondly, the anti-computer style gives the human almost zero winning chances. Since they are sure to be losing some games with Black now and again, this means their chance of winning the match is very low. Third, a good openings book avoids most of their tricks anyway. Now closed positions (example: KID) are another animal entirely, and I do plan on doing a bit of work on them if I have the chance. >"Internet chess servers" paved your route to the spotlight did they not? A few >CCTs with little or no commercial opposition... Except that I seem to remember beating Hiarcs in CCT :) But yes, you are correct. The true test of Zappa is the WCCC, as I stated earlier. In any case I need to spend more time working on my program and less time flaming people at CCC. anthony
